HAMBURG SHIP MODEL BASIN

HSVA is a private, self-supporting, non-profit research centre. The core activity is to provide advice to the maritime industry within the field of hydrodynamics. With its sophisticated experimental research facilities, HSVA has been among the world’s leading ship model basins since its foundation in 1913.

HERBERT BRETSCHNEIDER

Researcher, Project Manger
Quality Manager, Hydrodynamic Testing

The development of the AIRCOAT technology is challenging and may offer a fascinating potential to reduce fuel consumption, GHG emissions and biofouling of ships while breaking new ground. It seems to be superior to all existing technologies on this area.

Physicist, 19 years of research in hydrodynamic and hydroacoustics, 2011 – 2014 member of ITTC specialist committee on Hydrodynamic Noise, recent EU research projects: Hydrotesting Alliance, SONIC and eSHaRk.

DANIELA MYLAND

Senior Researcher and Project Manager

I am looking forward to some interesting tests, which will hopefully make the world a greener place.

Daniela works in the Arctic Technology division and holds a Diploma in Naval Architecture. She also completed her doctoral thesis “Experimental and Theoretical Investigations on the Ship Resistance in Level Ice” at the Norwegian University of Science and manages various ship and offshore projects at HSVA.
